Calendula Calm Cream assists in relieving and soothing dried, chapped and troubled skin and protects against the elements.

Ingredients:

Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) organic supercritical extract*

This herb is one of the most well known and versatile in herbal medicines and is well known for its skincare properties. It helps to nourish the skin; softening and soothing dry and weathered skin. It is a very useful aid in healing wounds, inflamed skin and most minor skin problems.

Seabuckthorn (hippophae rhamnoides) supercritical organic extract*

This green coastal shrub produces coral-red edible berries. Both the juice from the fruit and oil from the seed are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, carotenoids (provitamin A) and Vitamin E. Extracts of both the fruit and oil have antioxidant properties and offer protection against free-radical damage to the skin. The seeds and pulp of the seabuckthorn berries produce the beneficial golden-red oil, additionally rich in unsaturated essential fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acids. Its combination of vitamin E and provitamin A helps bind free radicals and protects the skin against the influences of dry air and wind. The oil aids in skin renewal.

Vanilla (vanilla planifolia) supercritical CO2 extract

Smelling vanilla oil can help to reduce stress so therefore the sweet smell of vanilla oil is used in aromatherapy to relax your mind. Vanilla oil has a sedative-like property; it can calm the brain and relax the nerves. Turmeric (curcuma longa) root organic supercritical CO2 extract*

Jojoba seed oil (simmondsia chinensis) cold pressed organic oil*

Jojoba seed oil closely resembles sebum that is produced by human skin and therefore is readily absorbed. It has a natural affinity to the skin, helping to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, promoting skin suppleness, while assisting in the rejuvenation of the skin. It furthermore helps to balance the secretion of sebum (oil) of the skin, while preventing skin dehydration. When absorbed by the skin, it softens the tissue and increases elasticity and promotes smoothness of the skin. Its natural Vitamin e properties are great free radical scavengers and they prevent oxidative stress and with this, help prevent premature aging of the skin.

Shea nut butter (butyrospermum parkii) organic*

Used for over a thousand years as treatment for dry or aging skin this rich buttery oil from central Africa is used for the protection and care of skin. It is an elegant addition to products because of its smoothing and replenishing abilities.

Rosehip (rosa rubiaginosa) organic cold pressed organic oil*

Rosehip oil has very good regenerative, restructuring, softening, moisturizing and protective properties. It is recommended for scars and spots and is used for its softening, regenerative and moisturizing effects on damaged, mature and delicate skin. Grown wild in Chile and South Africa, this oil contains 80% essential fatty acids (EFA's) - predominantly linoleic (40-46%) and linolenic (33-40%), but also oleic (15-17%) and palmitic (3-4%) fatty acids.

Vitamin E (tocopherol):

Natural vegetable extracted vitamin E is used as a preservative and a natural anti-oxidant that scavenges free radicals, heals, moisturizes, and protects, prevents scarring and reduces UV exposure.

Detailed Review : I was quite surprised with the quality of this product, it really works well and isn't in a base that is oily or greasy like a lot of other calendula creams. Soaks in nicely, is vegan (!) smells wonderful.
