Go Bamboo Clothes Pegs 20 Pack
If you're serious about sustainability you need to put Go Bamboo Clothes Pegs on your shopping list as an alternative to plastic pegs.
Bamboo is a biodegradable, natural and renewable plant material that requires no fertilisers or pesticides and is an extremely water efficient crop. It is the world's most sustainable product and has a 30% more absorption rate of CO2 than other trees.
These natural bamboo clothes pegs originated in New Zealand and won the 2012 Green Ribbon Awards which recognises individual and business contributions towards protecting and enhancing New Zealand's environment.
Designed to weather harsh UV conditions Go Bamboo Clothes Pegs are made from natural biodegradable bamboo with a degradable or recyclable steel spring. Because bamboo is naturally low in tannins it won't stain your clothes like some wooden pegs can.
Go Bamboo Clothes Pegs come in a box of 20 and are packaged in cardboard boxes made from recycled fibre. They are a great environmentally friendly alternative to plastic pegs.
These pegs are very good quality, very strong. They hold items firmly.
I find them easier to use when putting clothes on the line when there's a slight dampness on my fingers. The bamboo is quite smooth and can be hard to grip when my fingers are drier making it harder to remove them from the line. They're also quite short which gives less leverage to open them.
As they're a much better choice for the environment than plastic, I'll be refilling my peg basket with these as my old pegs need replacing. I expect they'll last a long time.
